Planning a one-year-old birthday and need a quick, easy idea that still feels fun and thoughtful? I got you! Between naps, snack time, and everyday life, I wanted something simple but still special, and this theme checked every box.

Our littlest was obsessed with balls of any kind long before he turned one, so this was an easy yes for his first birthday. I loved the idea of leaning into classic primary colors! They are playful, nostalgic, and perfect for such a milestone. With a little help from Pinterest, Etsy, and of course Amazon, everything came together so effortlessly, and we had the best time celebrating our adorable one-year-old surrounded by family and friends.

I’ve linked everything we used below in case you’re planning something similar:

Custom T-Shirt:  The perfect personalized shirt to match his party decor!

The cake was made by my amazing sister, Allison, from The Rolling Pin

It’s a ball to Be one sign: I loved documenting all of our little man’s milestones and favorite things using this sign!

One high chair banner: I attached it to his high chair using hot glue and the colors were perfect!

Balloons:  I just stuck with a set of primary colors to match all of the decor.

Balloon Tree Stands: These are way easier than creating a balloon garland! Trust me!

12 month banner: I love these for a first birthday to see how much your little one has grown!

ONE blocks: Super simple but makes a big statement!

This day was such a sweet reminder that first birthdays don’t have to be over-the-top to be meaningful. A simple theme, a few thoughtful details, and the people we love most made it truly special.
